（The 9th International Red-White Singing Festival）
の出場者の方々です。

今回は、イタリア出身のガブリエルさんに
お話を伺いました。

英語の書き起こし＆日本語訳

日本のテレビ番組がきっかけで来日

――Would you introduce yourself?
（自己紹介してくださいますか）

Gabriel: Sure.
（もちろんです）

Hi, everybody, I’m Gabriel and I come from Italy.
（皆さんこんにちは、私はガブリエルです、イタリア出身です）

I wouldn’t like to say my age… hahaha, it’s a secret.
（年齢は言いたくありません、秘密です）

And, I love music, that’s why I came here in Japan.
（音楽が好きです、それが今日本にいる理由です）

Because, I really want to realize my dream, become a singer world wide.
（世界的な歌手になるという自分の夢を実現させたくて）

I had a chance to appear in a TV show in Japan 5 years ago before I came living here in Japan.
（5年前、私が日本に住み始める前、日本のテレビ番組に出る機会がありました）

And, it was a “NODOJIMAN THE WORLD” from 日本テレビ.
（日本テレビの「のどじまんTHEワールド！」です）

And, after that I decided to came here to study Japanese first, because of course I couldn’t speak at all.
（そしてその後、日本語が全然話せなかったので、まず日本語を学びに来ることを決めました）

And, ah… try my way to the stardom here in Japan.
（そして、ここ日本でスターダムの道に挑戦しています）

――Which part of Italy are you from?
（イタリアのどちらから来たのですか）

Gabriel: I come from Milan.
（ミラノから来ました）

And my father is from Verona.
（そして私の父はベローナ出身です）

――From?
（どちらですか？）

Gabriel: Verona, Verona… Shakespeare の Romeo and Juliet… the city.
（ベローナ、ベローナはシェイクスピアのロミオとジュリエットの舞台になった都市です）

たまに日本語出る。

(Laughter)
（笑）

――No problem.
（問題ないですよ）

イタリアではフェラガモで仕事をしていた

――So, what did you do in Italy.
（それで、イタリアでは何をなさっていたのですか）

Gabriel: I did graphic designer and photographer for a company… which was a company from Ferragamo, you know the stylist, Ferragamo?
（グラフィックデザイナーとフォトグラファーをしていました、フェラガモという会社で…スタイリストのフェラガモはご存じですか）

――Ferragamo, ah…!
（ああ、フェラガモですね）

Gabriel: Yeah.
（はい）

I was lucky because in Italy now is no very good situation for work.
（現在イタリアの仕事に関しての状況はあまり良くないので、私はラッキーでした）

I just got graduated from the three-years-degree.
（3年の学位を修了したばかりで）

And I tried to search for jobs.
（仕事を探していました）

And after six months I got an internship in this place.
（6か月後にそのポジションのインターンシップに入れました）

And, it was really cool because there were a lot of young people also.
（同じような若い人が多かったのですごく良かったです）

And my boss was 26 at that time.
（私の上司も当時26歳でした）

Which allowed me to do and discover a lot of things.
（彼のおかげで私は色々なことを実行したり発見したりすることができました）

And, also he understood my potential and use it.
（また、彼は私のポテンシャルをわかっていて、それを活かしてくれました）

So, I learned a lot of… from that experience.
（その経験から多くを学びました）

歌い始めたきっかけは『リトル・マーメイド』

――When did you start singing?
（歌い始めたのはいつですか）

Gabriel: I start singing from when I was a little child.
（歌い始めたのは子どもの頃からです）

With… Disney, I think, movies.
（確か、ディズニーの映画だったと思いますが）

I really loved “Little Mermaid” when I was… ah, I think was three years old.
（『リトル・マーメイド』が大好きで、うーん、3歳だったと思います）

Actually, maybe even before but I think three years old I saw “the Little Mermaid”.
（もしかしたらもっと前かもしれませんが、3歳だったと思いますが、『リトル・マーメイド』を見ました）

And it got in my mind.
（そして、それが私の心に残ったのです）

Because of the singing and the drawings but especially of the singing.
（歌と絵ですが、特に歌が心に残りました）

And I started to sing it out loud every day.
（そして、毎日それを大声で歌うようになりました）
